Wow- a lot going on in that this thread? First of all I wouldn’t be moving too much dirt with your plow on an X300. The X300 is a fine machine, but it has a K46 tranny. Secondly what the big deal in removing the deck? Why would you be “dreading” that? JD 48 inch decks are a snap to take off. Casters turn easy to disconnect and roll out from under tractor- I can take mine off in less than 5 min. Third 1st thing I do with any problem troubleshooting is check connectors, clean/reseat all connectors etc- always try the easiest thing first. 4th why would you use E85 gas in your lawn mower? Your tractor is not designed for E85 fuel- it may even void your warranty
For those of you that dont know what E85 fuel is, its a term that refers to high-level ethanol-gasoline blends containing 51%-83% ethanol, depending on geography and season. It can be used in flexible fuel vehicles, a John Deere 300 and its kawasaki engine is definitely not a FFV.
