Rank& Leonz and everyone else thanks for the reply but let me make one thing clear. It's not just $120.00 if I mess up, it's $510.00 for the complete shaft. The $120.00 quoted was the diff. between the shaft I was sent and the cutable shaft they also stock. The new shaft I have costs $390.00 and the whole goods price for the cutable is $120.00 more. I also spoke to a board member in Canada and he has a completely diff. input shaft on his 60" Buhler blower. his uses two 5/16" sheer bolts and mine uses a compression collar with a key way on the blower input shaft and a 1/2" collar bolt to compress the yoke. Then you insert a 1/4" set screw that is allen head to stablize the set screw. The one on the 60" is like what I have on my post hole auger smooth shaft with two sheer bolts making a cross horizontal to the shaft. I think they made a change and didn't take into account the diff. in the setups. Scaper

I have the same blower. Mine's about 4 years old. I had the same problem. There are some arms on the bottom of mine that go to the 3 point. I had to slide those out to move the blower back from the tractor a little to be able to use the original shaft without altering the shaft length. I just ran mine for another 3 hours this morning. Hope you can solve your problem as easily as I did. Good Luck!

Thanks ARPT209 I do have my arms extended as far back as possible. I know the shaft on level surface is to long no question about that. I'm still waiting until tomorrow I'm supposed to hear from the warehouse to see if they will send me an exchange at no cost. I'll keep all of you posted this should be interesting to see what kind of customer support I recieve. Scaper

Well, this is disappointing. When we last spoke, this blower sounded so promising. I never realized that pto shafts were so pricey. $500+ sounds extremely high for a shaft, especially a small one.

Good luck,

Dick

Just cut it and be done with it. Nobody has anything go wrong with snowblowers under warranty hardly anyway and it is probably only a one or two year warranty to begin with.
