PTO Shaft Question

Thank you gentlemen for your replies.

My current strategy is to try the extender and examine for binding and extreme angles.

If that is a no go, then I will try for a re-tube. I already have a call into the shaft mfg., and the person (phone answerer) there seemed to think that re-tubing could be done but was not sure.

I am hoping to avoid buying an entire new one.

Thanks again.

I have an extender I use on a water pump that looks like 23252 on the previously posted doublehh link but with a quick release pin on the female end to attach to the tractor. Can't provide a link, sorry. (called my local dealer and had him send it to me)

If the cost of reshafting is anywhere close to the price of a new one, I'd recommend buying a new one. Around here PTO shafts are a commonly broken item and spares of different lengths are a must. I keep one brand new one on hand just for emergencies. That AgriSupply place seems to have good prices on whole shafts compared to my local dealers.

agrisupply has good prices on lots of stuff, I've been to the one in Statesboro ga many times.

Good prices for these shafts, best I have seen, believe me there aren't a bunch of shops here in CT with stuff like, based on those prices I think I am going to go new
