PTO Shaft Release Collar

I have a Howse shredder/mower. The PTO shaft on the tractor end has a release collar you turn to install and remove the shaft.
That collar has a crack in it. It still works. I want to replace the collar - Does anyone know where to buy that part?
It's a plastic collar by the way.

The plastic doesn't carry any load. It just something to grip to release the collar, isn't it?
If you want to replace the collar check with the manuafacturer to see if it is replaceable, i.e. is there is separate part number for the plastic cover.

Otherwise, you'll have to replace the whole u-joint assembly.

FYI - I found out it's called a Twist Collar. And they make repair kits sold online at various places. Just needed to get the nomenclature right.

hate to ask this but what is difference between "collar" and "Synch" shift option on a JD

i've always called a shifter on the column a collar or column shifter.. not sure that address's yer question though.

sync shift makes me thing synchronised.. etc..

I need this same part now but I can't find it anywhere. Did you order it from Agri Supply? They claim not to have it and it doesn't show up on their site anymore.

Hey thanks for looking. I did actually find that one on efarmtools.com but I have a huge problem paying $50 for a $6 part that's already broken twice on me on two different implements. I could buy a new yoke with a more traditional attachment method (made of metal) for less that. I guess I'll have to go that way as it seems Braber had the same notion and just stopped making them. So I guess they're a collectors item now!

I gave up on the one on our Howse bushhog and when you pull all the plastic off it becomes just a pin style, I just push the pin to remove and make sure it is seated when installing.
