pb blaster is the way to go, wd-40 is a wast of time and $$. spray it lat it soak spray it again and it'll come apart.

Wd40 excells as a lube when milling aluminum, but PB Blaster excells when used to loosen rusted parts.

That PTO shaft, has probably got a very slight bend in it, along with the afore mentioned corrosion issues. When you get it apart, check it for a bend, and lube it up good with the Grey graphite based grease, before you put it back together. I have also used Nickle anti seize. If you use heat, do not get the thing cherry red, or you might weaken the steel.

If the penetrating oil doesn't break it lose, do NOT snatch it to break it free ... usually doesn't work.

Fasten one end to a tree with chain and fasten the other end to either another tree or your tractor (not to the hydraulics) with chain and a come-along.

Tighten the come-along until it is very tight. Leave it that way. Come back every couple hours and tighten it as tight as you can each time. This could take a couple days (just pull it tight each morning and each night). After a few days it should pop apart. (Yes, we have done this and it works)

For about $100, I would suggest you go buy a new, LONGER shaft at TSC. Then, you can work with the old shaft to try and get it fully extended (off of the attachment), but be able to cut grass with the new shaft installed. If you manage to get it extended, then you'll have a spare pto shaft.

I use gallons of wd40 when I start a milling project in aluminium because it excells as a lube for endmills and drill bits. The finish left is hard to beat while still protecting the tooling from heat.

This is most likely what I will do. Then I can put the spare one on my RC.
The shaft on my RC is too short as it is. Won't fit at all with the QH.
