PTO stopped working

I have just bought a new TYM 723 and bush hog slasher. Only had it 38 hours and PTO has decided to stop working mid slash...and isnt interested in working at all. Any ideas? No, its not jumped into neutral. Dash switch is on manual, you can push the engage button and light comes on but nothing happens.

Does the PTO shaft on the tractor spin or it's just the mower that doesn't spin?

You can also try to locate the PTO valve solenoid to check if the wires got pulled off as Peter suggested.

Peter not that i can see...but also not exactly sure exactly where to look as it didnt come with a detailed manual. But at first inspection all looks to be where it should

Nope. Disconnected the slasher from the pto and nothing happening tractor end

Just went through it, not a thing mentioned for troubleshooting pto issues.

Try raising your lift arms up and then lowering just a bit, then try the pto again.

Sorry to hear, as has been mention wires or possible a fuse or relay.

Agree this could be as simple as an electrical 'disconnect' if hydro fluid is up to snuff with all cyls 'in position per manual'.

Reason I mention is 'electro-hydraulic' PTO on this model. Gee, I hope it's that simple.

Check the fuses... and did you shut everything off and start over maybe a switch or lever is not engaged properly ..... I'm lost you might have to call the dealer...

well we have no idea....manual is useless.....as is our dealer

yep did that, and all levers have been disengaged and re engaged....manual is useless...as is the dealer....who is 3 hours away and wont reply to emails or calls or txts.....and like i said, its only done 38 hours .....so livid

Maybe try in Auto?

If you disconnect the pto shaft can you easily turn the tractors pto shaft by hand (with the tractor off) first at least.

If its like the Branson system, the position of cylinders won't make a difference... unless the PTO switch is in "auto" position, which means the PTO switches on when the 3pt is lowered and switches off when it's raised.

The Branson PTO hydraulics that provide pressure to the PTO clutch run off the steering's hydraulic circuit. I don't know if TYM does the same but it's likely.
