Hello all,
I am a new member here. I have a 3 year old Kubota BX2360. I have enjoyed using it very much. I have a 54 inch MMM and the front end loader.
For years I have been using a Troy Bilt horse to till my 1/2 acre garden. Since I have bought the BX I have been thinking about buying a PTO driven 4 foot tiller. A friend of mine was nice and let me borrow the pto tiller from his JD1026. Wow, that was amazing how well that worked. So I have been looking into PTO tillers. I was told from my Kubota dealer that a Land Pride tiller was 2,300 dollars for a 50 inch model with a slip clutch. Then I was to Tractor supply and they have a Yellow 4 foot King kutter for 1,599 and they can order me a Orange King Kutter XB for 1,499. The people at TSC told me that the yellow king kutter would not work on my Kubota BX because the lift points are too high and the Kubota will not be able to lift the tiller off the ground. Is this true? I was told from the Kubota dealer when I bought the BX that it has a full size cat 1 hitch. Will the yellow King Kutter work? (Do the B series tractors have a regular Cat 1 Hitch or are they limited also?)

So after all that, I look into my Agri Supply Catalog I see they have tillers for about 1,100 dollars. I do not know the brand. However those tillers are 500 dollars less than the TSC option. So now I am at a loss. What to get? The tillers from Agri supply seem to be well made and I drive south every so often so it would not be far out of my way to get a tiller from them.
I have looked into used tiller but I have found very little and some of the used tillers cost more than the same item is new so I think I will go with the new option.
Any facts, thoughts or opinions?

I have a BX 2360 as well, and have used the King Kutter XB 48inch tiller with good results for a number of years. My understanding is that the XB models are a bit smaller and lighter and thus recommended for sub-compact tractors.

Yes, the 2360 has a "full-size" Cat 1 hitch, but 2 factors in considering attachments for sub-compacts are the attachment weight and the height of the attachment lift pins. The BX2360 has a comparatively lower max 3 pt. lifting height for attachments due to smaller rear wheels, lower ground clearance, etc. than a larger compact or mid-sized Kubota tractors. Even if the weight is within the BX 2360 capabilities, if you can only lift an attachment a few inches off the ground, it it much more difficult and/or dangerous to use. Keep the attachments within your tractor's design capablities.

I don't know the brand of the Agri-Supply tiller, but have found in general that comparable models that are significantly cheaper usually have lighter gauge steel, weaker welds, poor paint, etc. They may be ok if you have only a very small plot and only want it to last a couple of years before the rust starts, but if you have a moderate amount of tillage and plan to keep it for many years, I would suggest avoiding the cheapest models.

If you dig deep enough, you will probably find the Agri Supply tiller is Chinese made.

I have one of the Agrisupply tillers. It has been awesome for me. I have tilled acres (4) in a day. I have no complaints with it at all.

Recently my father in law ran over a buried anchor from a light pole. It stopped the tractor in its tracks. Not knowing what had happened he proceeded to move forward and did bend the side braces a bit. The anchor had wrapped itself literally all around the tines. Had to cut it out.

Welded the sides back straight and fired it back up and tilled about 2 acres.

Over the last two years I have hit large rocks, tilled very hard packed ground BEFORE plowing or tilling in any way. Took a few passes but second or third time it was like an ash bed. I got so i never used my plow or disk anymore.

A real work horse if you ask me. Tines are readily available at Agrisupply.

So will the AGRI brand 48 inch tiller fit my Kubota BX 2360? I am worried that I will not be able to lift the tiller with the three point hitch.

I have been using a 60" KK tiller for 5 years. For the money they are awesome. Not positive but I don't think they are made in China. Either way they are well designed. I have built a 12 acre orchard and put in a 10 acre yard for my son. I first plowed these areas then tilled over them several times. I also till 6 large gardens every year. You will not be disappointed with the KK tiller.

According to the specs for both it should. The tiller weighs in at 400# You tractor can lift 600# .

Those are the things that normally drive the load you are gonna carry.
