My '03 33D will work just fine with the brake set and the transmission in neutral. It will even start it without getting in the seat like this.
Does anybody know if they have that feature? I do know that when I'm mowing and stop to get off to pick up some sticks, if the PTO is on, the engine stops. Haven't tried setting the brake or raising the seat. Just curious now and away so I can't look for myself. If it does that, is there any way around it? I have been in the market for a little while for a chipper. Probably should have known this first but I didn't think of it.
Probably should have added that I didn't bring my manual with me. This was more of a curiosity thing for me here. I had been wanting to buy one and was researching on line to while away some time while I'm away on my trip. Just had not thought of that aspect until I saw this thread so I asked.Hmmm, good points being made here.
I'm away from home right now so I can't run out and check. I have a Cub Cadet Yanmar 2350(?). Does anybody know if they have that feature? Explained above, I should have clarified that in my original post.Read your manual...if there is off seat PTO capability, it should be explained in the manual.
If your tractor does not have off seat PTO capability, you can put a weight in the seat. I had to use a 50 lb bag of sand when my seat switch went out a year or two back.
Personally, I would not disable a safety switch, but a lot of folks do.

Just picked up a hardly used patu dc 40 for my kubota 2620. About 6 hours of use this morning great machine. On kubota b series if put in neutral with parking brake engaged the forward tilt on seat allows pto use while off tractor
