You can get the display to show you a trouble code.
From the 2016+ X300-series tech manual:
1. Safely park the machine with the brake NOT set. Wheel chocks are highly recommended.
2. Set the machine as such:
- Forward/reverse pedals in the neutral position
- Brake pedal released
- PTO switch off
- Operator NOT in seat
3. Turn the key switch from OFF to RUN three times within three seconds. (On the third time, stop and leave the key in the RUN position. This is a very exact process - for example, if you do it four times, it doesn't work. If you leave the key in the RUN position and just see the normal screen, turn the key off, pause a few seconds, and try again.)
4. The numeric portion of the operator display rotates through the following sequence:
- A line of dashes (- - - - - -)
- Maximum recorded engine speed as r _ _ _ _
- Battery voltage as b _ _ . _
- If there are any error codes, they are displayed as E _ _ _ _ A or E _ _ _ _ S. An "A" at the end means the code is active, "S" means it has been stored previously.
5. That display sequence keeps repeating until you turn off the key.
Don't forget to put the brake back on if you usually store it with the brake on.
