Pulled the trigger on DK45 cab.

Yep wanted more power for the snow blower and the cab is better then the coveralls and snowmobile helmet.

I am sure I made the right decision. It is a new 2012 DK45 cab and I had a Kobota L3410 no cab. Both 4X4 the DK45 has bigger bucked on the loader and more power for the snow blowing, and grass cutting.

Can't wait to get her delivered. Should be less then a week. My dealer was out of this model. :thumbsup:

Congrats, I was mowing 4' tall ragweeds today and the green cloud of pollen was making me kind of wish for a cab... Oh well, an open DK is better than no DK.

I thought I was pretty sensitive too, but it seems that 1000 times the pollen didn't affect me much more than a little bit does.... Normally I try to cut stuff like that in the rain, but we haven't had any this August.

I have the identical tractor. I went from a CK30 with Kioti comfort cab to the DK45 Cab. Gigantic difference, it amazes me every time I use it. You're getting a lot more than just a little more hp and a cab with this upgrade, enjoy.

Thanks for getting me even more pumped and excited to receive the new iron.

This year we built a pond. We have been very very dry here and could dig 14 feet down with out having to pump. The pond is about a half an acre and we will be landscaping and maintaining the landscaping work we do around the pond. Blowing snow for my business so I can get the big trucks in and out of the shop.

Just trying to guess when it would be a good time this fall to transplant some trees. We have about 60 10-12 foot trees we want to move around the pond.

One picture shows the front yard with the top soil scrapped back then finished. We plan on stocking the pond in the spring with perch and a few walleye to keep the perch in check. After the trees we will plant the grass and start working on the 16X16 floating dock. Plan on a small wood fired sauna right near the dock. Will be aerating the pond with a small air pump. This will allow us to hold 750#'s of live fish circulating the water mixing the top warm water with cold bottom water. We did build a water fall to the left of one picture with hopes the walleye will spawn in the pond as well in the rip rap under the water fall. Time will tell. You can see the little L3410 kobota back by the 590 in one picture with a hay wagon hooked on moving rock up for the water fall.

Best of luck to you on the new tractor Don. And nice pond too....looks fantastic. I imagine those pipes and tires at the bottom will provide some protection for the fish you're planning to stock. I've had trouble with otters cleaning me out. They're voracious little buggers.

Here in Ct the river otters are a protected species and I think they know it. They will float on their back and eat my fish like corn on the cob, or worse, sit on the aerator float and eat them. I am sure there is a pile of little fish bones at the bottom of the pond under the aerator float. I called the state Ag folks to see how to get rid of them and they said "don't you dare harm the little guys or you are in big trouble".
They are cute, but I wish they did not eat so many fish, how do I convince them to go for the frogs?

Here in Ontario it is the blue heron that will not just eat the fish but stab first eat only if they will fit down their neck. Then they just leave the dead fish with a hole in its side.

Up north we have Pine martins that will eat what every you have on the fish stringer. The pine martin is a mean bit@1 too.

Gill if you do not mind me asking what aerator system do you run? I need two nine inch and 14 feet deep.

Aerator is a commercial unit, one hp (240v) well pump motor with a propeller on the top. It sits in a float and churns (burbles) the water up. It is not a spray or decorative at all. The pond is 90' by 100' and originally 9 ' deep in the center. I am sure that over the last 20 years it has slumped and may now be less that 9'. I ran a 240 v line out to pool panel by the side of the pond to power the unit. As long as I had the 240 line out there, I put a pump out of the water and an inlet hose into the water so that I could use the pond for irrigation. Since this is a ground water pond, I put a filter on the inlet end and another one on the outlet side of the pump. All work slick except for cost of electricity to run the aerator. Wife likes to see the aerator burble away, but at $200 per month I only run it as needed. Besides neighbor said all the water noise made him want to pee.

Initial thoughts are....I am going to miss.

No more ear protection cutting grass ears may get cold with A/C running.
No more shower after cutting grass because the wind came up and covered me with grass and dirt dust.
No more snowmobile helmet and snowmobile suit blowing snow and that early morning first shot of snow in the face because I can't close the helmet with out it fogging up.
No more pulled back hooking on implements because the rear three point hitch arms will not extend or guessing at the correct height and lifting on the implement because it is close enough.

No pictures of the 3410 but I can drag it out beside tonight for a picture.

We did grade the driveway last night with it and the L3410 we would have to put in four wheel drive to do it after the first pass because the wheels would spin on the loose gravel. Didn't have to put the DK45 into four wheel drive at all and she pulls much harder than the kobota.
