Pulling a load

Hi all. Just wanted to say that I've never seen such a bb with good info from cool people before. That said, thanks for the help and here is my question....

Just bought a used 3130 and want to do grading, snow blowing, but also need to haul stone for the new house and wood...both logs and for fire. Figured I'd get a used box trailer of some sort but not sure this is the best way. Is this the best approach, and where could I find something like that online?

Tom, your profile didn't include any generic information about where you live. Country, city, burbs? In rural districs findin' carts or trailers is pretty easy, just drive down the road and look for used equipment lots. In cities or burbs, check out the local sales papers like trader, pennysaver, etc. I found an old 2 wheel farm cart for just $100, just drivin' down the road lookin' for garage sales in farm country.

Thanks for the info. I live in the country and am looking in all of those places with no luck yet. Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on brand of box scraper or does it matter?

The heavier the better. They all will do the work but the heaviest ones will do the best leveling.........

There are trailers like in the attachment that may serve your purpose. Haul logs or rocks or?

There is a kit trailer or wagon that seems to be popular here. I can't remember the name of the manufacturer but several folks here have documented assembly and use of them. A cylinder can be added for hydraulic dumping. They look very appealing and I'd like to have one but its down the list of tractor associated toys that I don't have the money for.

I'm not sure I understand how the hitch works though. If you hook it to your drawbar (not 3pt hitch) with a pin how can the trailer articulate up and down and side to side (twist)?

3/4" pin thru 1" drawbar hole has enough slop for flex in both directions. MikeD74T

Tom,

A carryall on the 3 ph will provide a lot more balance, particularly if you put stuff in both the FEL and the carryall.

Here's a picture of mine. I just bolted a pallet to the carryall (predrilled holes provided) and built some standards for the sides around the bottom of the pallets.

TSC has carryalls for about $90.
