I read somewhere on here talk about pulverizer rollers doing a great job on gravel drives. I've a Woods renovator with dual pulverizer rollers as well as a box blade. Which is better for a gravel drive? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Wouldn't the pulverizer leave dimples from the tines?

What is a "pulverizer roller"and what kind of gravel are you talking about?

a pulverizer is one or two rollers covered with solid pointy tines that fracture the soil as they roll. A 3 pt implement.

Compacting crushed gravel will require a heavy ruber tired roller or a vibrating steel drum type roller. The pulverisor/sheepsfoot will work very well on clay but is useless on granular materials.

Not meaning to be flip, MLB, but since you have both you would be the source I'd trust most for saying which is better.

Have both but haven't used either much and now I'm doing it for pay so I can't just find out on my own time. I install new lawns and do turf renovations subcontracting for a buddies landscape business. I live in a suburban housing addition on a 10k sq' lot and store my stuff at a business rental facility /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
