Pump question

My loader is being a pain in the arse and I just want to disconnect it and pull the valve . My3 point hitch is still in good order . Am I am to cap the P, PB and T line from the pump to valve and run the tractor without these lines ?? thx .

You can not just cap off pressure lines on an open center hydraulic system. It will dead head the pump and if a relief isn't before the cap it will bust the pump housing. If there is a relief it will make excessive heat and fry the pump and possibly other rubber components. And make a god awful squall to boot.

And I don't know without see a hydraulic circuit but the PB may feed the 3 point?.

Why cant you just unhook the loader cylinder hoses from the valve and remove the loader?

I’m concerned because I’ve had the valve apart and rebuilt the centre open centre valve , and it’s not giving me any hydraulic power . I wonder if the fluid is even circulating through . The valve leaks a bit .

PB feeds into the hydraulic regulator

PB is short for Power Beyond. Its in place to feed valves bodies down stream if the upstream valve is not being used. I am not sure what your calling a hydraulic regulator but I am going to assume its a pressure relief valve used to set max pressure and return flow to tank if the spools are engaged and the cylinders reach the end of stroke.

Define your not getting any power? You said the 3 point still works? Do you feel heat (a sign of flow) on the tank line? Have you placed a gauge to check pressure on the P line?

Posting a schematic would be very helpful.

I suspect PB feeds the 3 point so that would indicate the pump is operating.

Was everything working before you took the valve apart?
