I am looking into a PTO pump to power my FEL. The one on the tractor has very limited GPM and I want the FEL to move quicker than it does.
My question is:
If I look at the PTO and it is turning clockwise do I buy a CCW turning pump?
The reason for my confusion is if I look at the PTO turning CW then look at the shaft on the pump my reference has changed and the pump would need to turn CCW in relation to the pump housing in order to match the CW direction of my PTO in relation to its housing. Right? Wrong? Maybe?

This seems like it should be real simple but has me quite puzzled.

Shaft rotation is customarily described from the viewpoint of the end of the shaft that you will attach the coupling, pulley, etc. to. That is, looking down the shaft from the coupling end. So, you are correct. If two shafts are to be direct coupled (ie, a PTO to a pump), one shaft must turn CW and the other must turn CCW since you will be viewing them from eactly opposite (relative) positions.

The Prince pumps are probably the most widely available and all are (I think) CCW.
