Pump RPM on a Mason Dump

/ Pump RPM on a Mason Dump #11
Tom some of the older starters and a few newer oned had a seperat nose cone on them some had a solid nose cone but had a bearin on both sides of the armature. Most tailgate lift pumps used to have the same casings as a starter and hybrids could be made to by switching casings and shafts. I think Fords had the most makes with the double bearing starters. I always got alot of the loose engines on the yard to take the starters from. Ill try to get a parts list of them one day if I can find a few.

I use old ford starters I am thinking pre 1968? They have a front plate.....I also have seen folks machine a front plate for newer starters for this purpose /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mason dump might be a regional term, but it refers to a 2 - 3 yard dump body that is usually mounted on a 1 ton truck cab and chassis. The bed is 8' long and 6' wide, with a sides that are about 15" high without the sideboards. I would go out and measure mine, but with the wind howling at 50 MPH, the snow falling about 2" per hour, and the temperature about 0 degrees, there isn't a chance that it is that important to be exact this evening.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
