Tires Punctures with filled R4's?

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. That's what I'm aiming for and my concern. I've read a lot of threads on the loaded tires but couldn't remember any mention of punctures on R4's. I was curious how often R4's get punctured. Due to loader/boxblade/grapple work I plan on R4's.

I've done a lot of clearing work with mine including areas with locust the last couple of years. I've punctured a front tire but never one of my loaded rear R4's. I did have one episode where while backing up, a stick popped up inside of my rear tire and unfortunately caught and sheared the valve stem. Lost a significant amount of fluid from that episode. Refilled and never another problem.

Just curious, do you guys have the front tires filled also or just the back tires?

I have similar worries for my filled tires. The Forest Service thinned behind my house 150-200' and left a lot of nice firewood for me. The problem is they cut the small stuff at an angle about 3-4 " high and that left punji type sticks all around. I would love to get the tractor back there to salvage the wood but I don't want to drive over those spikes.

I used rimguard filled R4s on my 2410 for a couple years with no problem even in the woods. As stated something like rebar might puncture the tire but they are pretty tough.

I do a lot of mowing and tilling of fields. One day while tilling a field I looked down to my left rear and saw strange piece of metal stuck to my tire and water leaking! It was an old gopher trap that the home owner had put out and fore got. Those sharp spikes will puncher R4's in a heart beat! So after repairing I had the tire shop add puncher seal made for liquid filled tires to back ones, ( I run just plain water) and I added "slime" to the front ones since I do a lot of berry bush mowing and clearing. I'm always pulling large thorns from the fronts.
