Gone and done it! Now I have to wait till FRIDAY for them to
deliver it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, Boy, is this going to be a long week. Already thinking of all the fun, I mean jobs, that I've got waiting for me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I'll post pics if I can figure out how to size and attach them.

Thanks again to all who post on this board, it is very informative. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll love your new machine. In order to help you get through the week while waiting for delivery of your new baby, here are some things you should do to prepare for the big day:

1. Go out and buy a nice new yellow 5 gallon diesel can, even if you already have an old one, and fill it with fresh, overpriced diesel fuel, as you will want to waste a couple of gallons the first day getting to know your new machine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

2. Be sure to read through all of the literature that you got from the dealer for the tractor and any implements that you may have purchased. Then re-read all of that literature - you may have missed a critical word such as "the" or "and" when you read through it the first few times. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

3. Be sure to also visit the Kubota website a few more times and re-check all of the features - study the pictures carefully, as it will be important to get to know your machine before it arrives, so as to impress the neighbors watching enviously as you try out your new toy, er, tractor.

It is critical that you follow the above listed steps, to help pass the time while you wait impatiently for the new addition to your family to hurry up and arrive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is also a given that you must take the entire day off of work, to celebrate the momentus event, and spend some quality time with your new tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Once your new tractor arrives, be sure to try everything out. For example, if you got an FEL, be sure to go dig something up, even if it may appear to the lay person (or your wife) as if it did not need to be dug up. Most likely, it needed to be dug up because it wasn't "just right", and was in need of being made "better". /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Keith,

Welcome to TBN, and congratulations on your new tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ed gave you some good "suggestions", but I'll add the one that he missed.

You MUST take pictures and post them on TBN within 24 hours of the delivery of the time you spend burning up some of that overpriced diesel fuel he mentioned. The taking and posting of pictures is a requirement of all new members. I'm sure that you read that rule in the fine print in the Terms of Service agreement that you agreed to abide by, didn't you!? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Enjoy your new BX, and we look forward to your future contributions to TBN.

Welcome to TBN. A couple tips from Uncle Larry:

1. Make sure you go over the tractor from stem to stern with the delivering person to check for leaks and operation of EVERY lever, button or switch.

2. Make the person remove and re-install every attachment to make sure they are correctly set-up and you can do it later by yourself. (mower deck, FEL, etc.)

3. Great idea on the yellow DIESEL fuel can. Definately mandatory.

4. Read the books, cover to cover and most of all have fun. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you don't have a digital camera, borrow one or get one of the single-use models. The reason (other than posting pics here!!): take pix of all your more complicated attachments to install, including up-close shots. Things like MMM, FEL and all those things for which it might come in handy later on when you are trying to install and think to yourself 'how did that attach??'
This is a general rule I follow in life. Let me tell you, last time I replaced a serpentine belt in my car and I 'thought' I knew how it was routed...next thing I am printing out that pic and holding it beside the engine!!!

Oh--- and make sure you have an extra 2.5 gal pail of Super UDT around.

Thanks everyone,
I did get the manuels on everything before I left the dealer,
then went and picked up a diesel can and filled that sucker up /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, went to work last night and read, and read, and read /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The dealer told me they will deliver Friday am sometime and go over everything w/me, I don't guess I'll get much sleep after I get off that morning. Looking @ the extended forecast , I think I'll get a little practice time being that I'll be off the entire weekend /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
The funny thing is my wife will be gone the entire time, so she won't see me having all that fun. Will take pics of everything.

Keith,

Be careful of that FEL out in front around fences or buildings. It jumps out and puts a nice GOUGE in either. I try to curl my bucket all the way up so I can see the edges and how close I'm getting.

But that knowledge only came after two holes in the shed and several knicks in the cedar fence.........

Enjoy your BX--they are awesome!

RonR, I'll keep that in mind when using the cutter around the fence line and the bblade around the house. Wouldnt want the wife to come home and see a fence down or holes in the walls /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
