Purchasing a Kubota L series. Advice on negotiating?

I wasn't serious about EV tractor. Concerning EV's, it depends upon how you define "long way to go".
Personally I'm to the point now that I won't own anything but an EV.
IN the sense you aren't going to take an EV on vacation. Or if you drive several hundred miles for your job. You won't be using an EV. The infrastructure needs to come around. I think everyone agrees with that. The hang up is where does the money come from b/c right not there isn't any way to make a profit with EV charging. Its why its done with tax dollars or at home charging which im sure there is some sort of tax incentive

Infrastructure is here. It's called Tesla Superchargers. Last year my wife and I went from Texas to Alabama in our Tesla and had no issue.
There is still a market for ICE trucks used for long hauling or general work.

I think this depends on where you drive. Around here, nearly half the charging stations are broken or otherwise out of service. No one is being trained to service them.

When you do find one that's working, you need to have the right adapter, since there are several types of receptacles to choose from. Sometimes, there is quite a line waiting to use the ones that are in service. Then, there is more waiting while the vehicle charges.

The only place you can be sure of getting a charge is at home.

I'm sure this varies from place to place so YMMV.

I found that true for non Tesla chargers (ex. Electrify America). I have yet to encounter broken Tesla superchargers and normally there are at least 8 chargers at any one charging facility. There is a Supercharger facility north of Austin at a Buc-ees that has 48 chargers.

Yes the Tesla supercharger stations do appear reliable and effective, BUT, there's still not nearly enough of them available, if you consider the legislative goals to 10x the number of EVs on the road (not happening, but still their goal).

In popular spots like California, or Norway, at busy times the Tesla stations have a multi-hour line just to get into a charger stall. And then when all the chargers are going at the same time, they run a bit slower, too.

Liquid fuel is just too good! Incredible energy density and transportability.

Anyway, hows the Kubota purchase going? lol

Well I wouldn't trust it. For that reason I will probably never go to EV. As im 50 maybe in the next decade the technology is better. Charging is more streamlined. More plentiful. Im glad you like it and had no issues traveling. Some people love them. Some people go back to ice.

The only Manufacturer making money on EVs is Tesla. It took them 13 years turn a profit. In my eyes 13 years of losses doesn't mean the company as a whole is profitable. Brand recognition has really helped Tesla stay a float.

I hope you are right about EVs being a Stop Gap but if you look at everything the Department of Loans was approving. It was Battery Manufacturing, Solar manufacturing and so on. I dont think its a stop gap considering how much the loans office was loaning out to get the EV market going.
I’m uncertain it will be in my lifetime to prove myself, but I think this ev thing is just as you said…marketing.
I feel we are on the cusp of something better or maybe even know already but stringing this ev thing along for whatever money is to be had.
I think corporate and political hacks who have their hands in corporate pockets miscalculated and now are trying to figure out how to recoup money lost without the taxpayer knowing for the better.

How’d you find the chargers on your trip?
They have an app telling you where they were?
Is the layout of your trip abled be planned out ahead of time telling you where to go?

When you start out on your trip in a Tesla you put in your final destination in the touchscreen and it will map your route with superchargers. It's that easy. Before my Tesla we drove a GM Bolt and it was a nightmare finding chargers that even worked.
If you go to the Tesla website there is an option to test drive whatever Tesla model you are interested. I checked out a Cybertruck last month and had it for about 3 hours.
Probably best to move this conversation over to "EV owners of Today and Tomorrow" in the Rural Living section.

The bolt was on its way out but I believe they are now able to use tesla chargers.
