Purchasing a Telehandler

I personally like JCB Loadall (the world's first telehandler). JCB is still a privately-owned, British company with a long history of innovation. JCB would be my first choice for a telehandler.

I've got access to a 520 and I am less than thrilled with the way it performs. When everything's working, it is a nice compact lift. But, right now the machine has a slight problem blowing apart hoses on the tilt side of the lift  2 trips to the dealer, 3 trips to the hydraulic specialty shop and it still doesn't work right. The last go around, they switched to "5000 psi hoses and fittings", amazingly they still come apart :(

Maybe a bad apple in the bunch, but...........

Our local JD dealership is also selling the JCB line of equipment. When I talked to them they said that the people they have sold them to have been very happy with them. They didn’t have any used units around so they gave me a quote on a new one. I was shocked when they were asking 84K for a 531-70 and 94K for a 541-70T. That is much more than I was expecting since the low hour CAT’s were in the mid 50’s the new CAT’s are in the mid 60’s, and the new New Holland and Bobcat machines are in the mid 60’s.

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate the information.

Boy that's cool! It's even got a 3 pt hitch! I couldn't find it on the us site though.

That looks great. It looks like there is a few dealers in Oregon. I might have to check them out. I could use anouther tractor with a 3pt hitch sometimes. This has it all.

According to the Oregon Mccormick dealer and NW sales manager their telehandler is built in the UK and not currently available in the US.

The PTO output on this machine got me thinking that if I did get a telehandler with the auxiliary hydraulic outputs I could run them to a hydraulic motor and make a pto output. This would be useful to me since most telehandlers come with hitches I could pull my spray and blow down equipment that don’t require the 3pt with the telehandler while the tractor was being used other places by one of my employees.
