Congratulations. Hope it serves you very well. It will certainly outdo the walk behind.

Congrats on the new tractor! I think you will be pleased with the decision. Post some pics when it arrives.

Welcome to TBN thbarrons,

Congratulations on your new MF. What type of driveway are you going to be using your new snowblower on?

Be careful if you have a gravel driveway so you aren't firing rocks out of your discharge chute.

A weight box in the winter might be a consideration for added weight to the rear tires.

What's your property like, you might be able to use a box blade in the summer?

KC

Thanks to everyone who replied. I certainly can't argue with anyone who said I should go bigger but that just isn't in the budget at this time.

So I pulled the trigger and am now the owner of a Massey Ferguson GC 1723e with front mounted snow blower/Sbx1270. I'm very confident this little thing is going to do the job I need it too. Much better than the 26" walk behind Toro I've been using.

I've also ordered a soft cab from covermytractor.com The Curtis cab I was looking at was quite a bit more, and I'll use the money I save from that to buy some more implements, like a back blade that I think will come in handy with the snow too.

I take delivery this Tues and it looks like it might be just in time as the forecast for next week finally has some snow in it for Northern MI. The cab won't be in yet so I'll be doing the snowsuit with face mask and goggles thing at first.

I can now update my user profile with the tractor I own. I'll be hanging around this forum now. What a great resource.
I looked up the curtis cabs and those are nice but the 5700 price tag is steep. They do look nice and nearly OEM. Of course they dont include heaters and all that so you could easily get into the 6500 range with added comfort. I wonder how easy they are to get in and out of? I would think it would be hard but maybe not.

Enjoy the tractor. Couple of things I would look at is where is the hydraulic filter located. On my 1705 its underneath the tractor. I purchased a cover for it so when im in the woods with the mower deck removed i can put it on and not worry about my filer getting damaged unknowingly and causing catastrophic damage. It has happened to people on here. These little tractors are handy and can do a lot of work. Ive installed driveways for people with mine. Sure it takes a little longer but that's the joy of fracturing
