Purchasing New Holland Parts On-Line

There is not, for parts pretty well no company will stop you. Wholegoods is a different story.

Myself, and dozens of other dealers have been trying to find a way to make this possible. The problem is that you need to be able to make your parts books available to your customers to lookup what they need. Thats not possible, and probably not legal either. I am still fooling around with some ideas and we may do some experimenting down the road. Long term it would probably pay off, short term I am not sure you would do enough volume.

My favorite site is www.partsexperss.com. They sell thousands of small parts and I think something good could be modeled after it.

Before getting into this industry I got a degree in computers and worked in consulting. I enjoy fooling around with this stuff.

I would think this could be easily done by setting up a server with the parts books on it allowing access over a web site. Deere does it they just direct the orders to the customers nearest dealer by zip code.

All the PAL data is tied up in files that can only be opened by any other programs, same with partsmart. Noticed Deere has theirs online, same with Sears. They are all using custom Java views. If that data was available you had better bet I would try to do somthing.

When it comes around to it I may think about chacing down NH/Kubota to see if they would open things up for me. Doubt it though. Eventualy we will probably try somthing, i just gotta get a better feel for the real demand for somthing like this.

You mean 'can not be opened by any other programs,', right?

No way to export the parts data from their files to something else?

Yea that was some real high quality english wasn't it.

The file format is unique to the PAL system. You can export to other formats, but its a manual process and you loose the ability to zoom in and out as well as all the model and part information that goes with the diagrams. There could be a solution but it would require loads of manual labor and be impossible to keep current.

It would be easy to put together somthing requiring the customer to know the part numbers, but i am not sure that would be very useful.

Judging from the number of users at these tractor forum sites, it seems like the demand is out there, and can only continue to grow as new tractor-owners (like myself) are more and more familiar and experienced with online retailing. I wouldn't even mind for the time being just to be able to see what parts are available at my local dealer vs. what needs ordering so I know if I should make the trip or give them a call. It seems like with the huge number of auto parts stores on the web, where I can find and order a replacement antenna for my 1972 f-350 from 3 different sites, it should be just as easy to find a common top link bar for my 3 pt hitch without taking a trip to the dealer. Especially when said dealer is 20 miles away and only open during hours I am at work. I think the first retailer who manages to put together an online parts store for tractors will become the tractor equivalent of amazon.com or autozone.com.

Just my $0.02 from a worn out soap box.

Thanks for stepping up. I just ordered (1005 am EST) a set of 60" 914A blades. I emailed a couple of the other's and still have not gotten a response so.....We'll know the rest of the story in a couple of days.

<font color="black"> </font> I would definitely be interested. I have about for NH dealers around me, all of them are about 30 min. drive away and only open during the hours I'm at work. It would be nice to have a reliable place to place simple orders. I'd order the more complicated stuff over the phone or visit the dealer if I had too.

I place an order for some gator blades for my 914a and received them almost in a day over the internet from West Hills Tractors. Worked out great!

Yesterday evening, the UPS guy dropped off my new blades. Man, what a surprise /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Messick Farm Equipment was a pleasure to deal with. Courteous and efficient, what more can you ask for?
