I can tell you the motor in my allis seem pretty strong. It has 14000 plus hours on it. I've raised h@@@ with it a few it a few times and had it blowing black smoke like a freight train. I have a few friends who don't care for allis and call them a@@ chasers. They even admit that allis made a pretty good engine. As for the generator, you could probably run your whole house and out buildings with it. The comercial voltage is probably 3 phase 440v. I dont know how much ice you get. Sometime we get an ice storm instead of a snow storm and it knocks the power out. Beingin the country i'm one lf the last to get power back on. I've been out for 2 weeks if it is a bad storm. I keep a generator around, but not that big. We have dairy farms around here, and the have big generators like that. If the power goes, the cows still need milked, them milk needs to stay cool and alot of dairies feed silage. Most silage system use at least 240v to operate. You might buy it and see if you can find a dairy to purchase it for a profit.I am considering buying a 100KW Onan Genset with a Diesel Six Allis. I don't need it more then another hole in the head, but it seems nobody wants it. That thing starts with some authority! The alternator is some commercial voltage but maybe someone can use the well running motor. Or maybe it's too Onanized.
