I have been working on a new barn for probably the last 7-8 weeks. I had a builder put the building up and then I did all the dirt work and electric work. We basically had to build up the whole area roughly 5'.
After he finished up and moved on to another job I noticed that the building started to shrink
........I laid out all the dimensions on a plan for the equipment but forgot a few pieces and ended up having him to put another lean to on the other side as well.
We had to build this side up almost 6' and sloped it so that it would not be too steep to ride across with a tractor etc. The picture really doesn't do it justice. I bet this side probably took 350yards of dirt or more. We took all of the dirt away from a few other areas to get some other areas the way we wanted so it was a win/win situation. This barn is 40x60 with 15' lean to's on each side. There is also 120 tons of gravel that was spread around the perimeter. yesterday we finished the dirt work/grading and got everything seeded with duranna clover. I've been working up there nights after work and then driving an hour home to sleep. I'm so glad to be finished with it. I'm sure it'll be a great place to do things but no feeling like I got to be up there all the time is nice also.
