Hey Freds, gimme a low-5. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I'm with you, I'm surprised that trackballs aren't even more popular. I wouldn't have one right now, except for the sales guy at Staples telling me that he used one, and why. I guess it made immediate sense, and for twenty bucks (and a money-back guarantee), it wasn't much of a risk to try it out.

Man, am I glad I did. I can barely stand using my home mouse now! Just something about that effortless, precise, big ol' marble. But leave it to me to embrace a technology just as it's being rejected by the rest of the marketplace. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I think I must be part salmon, with all of the "swimming against the current" that I do! Oh well, good exercise I guess. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Track on, John

I couldn't agree more. I'm on my third trackball now and this one is at least 5 years old. It's the Logitech marble with wheel. After getting used to a trackball I hate using a regular mouse. It seems the price has dropped quite a bit since I bought this one, I think I paid about $50.

Well it looks like the prevailing opinion is a bad mouse so I will get a new one and try that. I must say that this just doesn’t seem to act like any mouse problem I have seen before though. If it was more consistent or the cursor was not responsive to the mouse movements I’d be a true believer. We will give it a try.

Inspector, very interesting that your office has seen a similar problem on the Dell machines. I’ll keep an ear open and drop Dell an e-mail to see if they have any input.

Thanks all,
MarkV

Mark,

I did find a virus that might have infected your mouse. See details here. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I've seen the video settings affect a mouse that way - try changing your video to a lower setting and see what that does.
