I have a 6' KK rotary cutter. I purchased smooth bore slip clutch for it from TSC.(slip clutch was around $95)

well gents, here's some more information: I haven't bought it yet. I lost my job early spring this year and took another this fall and after summer out of work and looking, so now I am making half what I made....wife, 3 kids, I am just scraping by and thought I could save roughly 100 bucks by using my existing slip clutch. That's all...thanks for all the replies. not sure what decision i'll make.

In that case, I would buy a handful of shear bolts and just get on with it. When the time is right, you can add a slip clutch to the mower.
