QBE INSURANCE DIRTY TRICKS

The worst part about it was my son got sick right before Katrina. He started going to teaching University doctors who couldn't diagnose his problem before Katrina. After Katrina, half the hospitals in southeast Louisiana were shut down and the other half too crowded to handle anything except emergencies for years.

I was afraid this was the case with your son.

We are very lucky that we live near some excellent research/teaching hospitals. There are other hospitals that we can get too if Duke or UNC is not good enough. :D This type of access is not the case for everyone. But if one has a health issue and the local Doc is not finding a solution one HAS to move on to another Dr. Be that just a local MD or finding a specialist. We have done it MANY MANY MANY times.

Right now our kids go to a Dr that is 25 miles away. One way. Why? Because she is competent. The Dr before this one almost killed our new born baby.

In my wife's case she went to every specialist you can name and they all failed to find the cause of her illness. I figured it out one day when I was doing my normal reading on the Internet. She refused to believe my diagnosis. :D The Docs had checked for Glaucoma but had missed it. To be fair, Glaucoma is hard to spot with a test because eye pressure can and does change during the day. AND my wife was not old or black. Young white women should NOT have Glaucoma. So they ruled out Glaucoma. BUT I was living with it and her symptoms fit the disease perfectly. Right after I made my diagnosis, :D, she had an accident due to loss of vision from Glaucoma and at that point she was diagnosed correctly by an MD. But by then she had already lost some vision. Which led to her whacking her face with an open car door. Twas rather circular.

We have had family members come and stay with us to make visits to Duke to get a second opinion. They had a serious illness and felt their Doc was doing the right things but they wanted a second opinion from a specialist at Duke. That is easy to do because of our location not so much if one is far away.

I just wish what I know now I knew then. It would have saved us so much....

Dan

That is the second time Ive heard that , it is only with your post it has stuck . I did in fact insure my income , I'm sure the policy is for income . So why are they talking about profit ?

Is it just to confuse a layperson who drives a tractor for a living for a reason ?:D

THAT piece of information is what is needed. They are either stupid and do not know the difference between profit and income or they are hoping you will be.

Since the policy is for income I don't see how they have a leg to stand on, pun intended, to not pay per the policy.

This sort of behavior SHOULD get the insurance company in trouble. Coworkers have had issues with their insurance dropping them for no real reason. I suggested they contact the Insurance Commission and very quickly the policy was reinstated. And not the premium did not increase. :D

In your case I really wonder if a lawyer should not be involved. If they have tried to give you the shaft how many other people are they fraudulently treating? At a minimum the government department with oversight should be digging into this.

Dan

QBE NO WAY CAUSE THEY DON'T PAY

Dear Mr Iron horse, Well welcome to the dirty tricks of QBE INSURANCE. I am sorry to hear about your knee and your experience with the lovely QBE INSURANCE. We have just experienced their ruthless underhanded dirty ways they deal with people. I'm not really into tractors but live in a small cane farming community.

We had a timber motel, suffered fire damage 29th June 2010. We were insured with QBE INSURANCE. They have made our lives ****. Sent a private investigator went all through us and our financials. We had business interruption insurance after Cyclone Larry. Yep we went through that too, except we were with CGU then, they were great. We have not seen a cent of Business Interruption from QBE INSURANCE. What they do is work out what you are actually earning for the past financial year say $ 150,000, not the $ 250,000 that we were paying our premiums for. Then they work out a monthly schedule then deduct all of the running costs off that that you no longer have due to damage to your business. If you are lucky you would have enough left over to pay your loan or council rates. If you earn any monies through paid employment simply to pay for a solicitor of put food on your table they deduct that too. OH and don't forget any centre-link payments, the bastards take that off your monthly business interruption payments. But that doesn't matter because we have not seen a cent. Then we were told by our broker that they would expect us to renew the policy which we did. They took our monthly premium or $ 560, then rejected our claim saying it was processed 2 days late and refused to renew our policy. They were the ones that processed the claim, all because they didn't want to know about a half burnt out building. They QBE Insurance were reported by our broker and had to renew the policy, which we now can't afford anyway. We can't operate at all because the whole mains switch board went up in flames and six of our rooms are badly fire damaged. Thank god for great friends, now in share accommodation. They keep moving the goal posts. Then they said they were not in the position to provide indemnity until the outcome of police investigations were finalised.

Well that is over and we WERE not charged and the lovely QBE INSURANCE still wont pay. I feel sorry for you and I hope your knee gets better. Maybe go to your member of parliament that's what we are doing next. We can't afford any more solicitor fees or afford to take them to court. Also try the media, that's a good one. Business Interruption insurance what a joke. Don't worry about your premiums going up because QBE INSURANCE don't pay.

There needs to be a massive overhaul and a government body overseeing insurance companies and expose all their dirty little tricks. The forensic insurance investigator entered our premises 3 days after the fire, took their own samples and even fabricated evidence against us, which was disputed by the police, how bad is that!

The police forensics came back clean and were tested in proper government accredited lab and QBE'S were not. Work that out everyone, not hard is it, talk about trying to frame people and potentially ruin their lives.

I phoned the ombudsman and was told they have no power or jurisdiction for any claims over $ 280,000, what a joke.

Well thank-you for sharing your story and I hope your knee gets better.
Don't forget insurance is a massive rort and it is the society we are living in that makes us have it. The banks are in bed with the insurance companies.

So all i have to say is thank-you Mr QBE you have destroyed my life. We have lost our business, now the bank is taking everything, our house as well.
But i still have my health, a brain and the world of the internet. I will start up another business and won't get insurance again for sure.

So much for insurance you pay it for years so it is there when you need it.

I feel so sorry for all of the flood victims and love to you all and best of luck with your insurance claims, i hope your not with QBE.
QBE no way cause they don't pay!
