I was working in the woods this evening and scared up the first bunch I have seen in a LONG time, scared them out of my row of blue spruce as I drove my Ranger past them.

Not sure if it means anything, but it was nice to see them

Around here if you have quail - everything dealing with Mother Earth is pretty right. The dog & I walk our morning constitutional down the driveway. They blast out of the brush along side the driveway. Spook the both of us.

I see about a covey about once every few years, but see one or two along the road once or twice a year.

I think you folks "back east" have what I recall from Pennsylvania as "bob white quail". In Washington we seem to have an abundance of a slightly different member of the family - the California quail. They populate lmy junipers and the little ones are cute to watch tag along after their parents.

In my 7 years of living here I've only seen quail once... but they're here.

Can you tell us the general location or is that confidential. It would be helpful info. I haven't seen or heard any around here in northern Indiana in about 15 years. I did see one about 30 miles west of here last year.

I love watching quail. I have a 2600 acre lease in the Texas hill country and they're slowly coming back. I love marinated quail or bacon wrapped quail breasts.

In the desert we have always had significant numbers of Quail. However the last 2 years prior to this year there were lesser. They seem to be having a comeback as we had a wet winter.
