Quality gone

Has Kubota's quality gone. I had a L-3830 for five years that I had no problems with. I worked it hard. Then I needed more HP so I moved to a M-5040 w/cab. First the 3pt would not lift enough weight. The dealer adjusted the releif valve but still could not get the pressure where it should be(300PSI low). He ordered a new relief and took the tractor in and still has the same problem. Now a Kubota rep has been called in to help solve the problem. The tractor is 2 years old with a mere 325 hours on it. The first 50 hr service was done by the dealer. A JD is starting to look real good.

Sorry to hear about the 3pt lift problem. What sort of weight are you trying to lift?

I haven't had any problem with my 3pt lifting my 8' rotary cutter which is about the heaviest weight I have tried to lift.

Hopefully Kubota will make the correct repairs for you, and keep us posted with what they find.

It seems like I am not the first M-5040 owner from this dealership to have hyd pressure issues. A local township had one that was only putting out 1900 psi and it should be 2650 to 2700. With my V-4000 Farnsgard skidding winch (900 lbs) and two 16 foot pine logs It would not raise them more thn 6 inches. The mechanic came out last winter and tryed to adjust it but could not.

I don't know that I would question an entire company based on any one tractor as you will find people with issues on all the brand forums.

I do however understand your frustration and don't think I would have tolerated it so long before replacing it with something better regardless the brand. Good luck.

I think there are some issues here and there with bota but the green guys seem to have just as many if not more problems.

the field reps are generally very helpful. This stuff does take time to get corrected, but when there is a clear mechanical problem they will make it right. The quality of the tractors is very good, however they are man made and every one will never be perfect.

The problem has been fixed. When I bought the tractor I had the third function valve put in because I someday wanted an Anbo root rake and grapple. The dealer called just a bit ago for some other info and went on to say that there was another relief valve on the 3rd function valve that no one knew about. When it was adjusted the pressure came up to what it should be. In this case the field rep did his job by knowing these tractors and how to solve problems. The 5040 is not totally new but when new equipment come out the dealer mechanics should receive some training on them.

I have alway really liked the Kubota's. I wish they would make an L series with a cab and a GST. Because of knee injuries a hydro is out of the ? for me.
