I have seen the flooding on the news. My prayers go out to them.

I live in the Brisbane Valley, we currently cut off - however lucky for us the power has come back on today. 3 days without power, we were starting to run low on fuel for the generator. This morning the water had gone down enough that I could get into Toogoolawah and purchase some fuel and milk. There was no bread and fruit/veges were running low. I believe they are bringing more bread and milk in via helicopter today.

Things are a little worse for my brother in the Laidley valley though, his house is on a hill and he is surrounded by water...and he has run out of beer

I have been following the news about Oz's flooding. It looks pretty bad. Seems like some of it has been going on for what most seem like forever and then the flash floods.....

Later,
Dan

I know that QLD is getting the brunt of these storms, but aren't NSW and SA also getting above average rainfall? I saw scenes on the news from QLD last night that were frightening. The flash flooding was like an inland tsunami.

I have watched this on the news for several nights. The pictures are just amazing as to the amount of water. My thoughts go out to those "down under" dealing with those terrible floods....

and to run out of beer unthinkable

AT least his house is surrounded by water instead of full of it.
Best wishes to you your brother and all the others affected by the flooding!

One reason for the scale of this disaster is that governments and local councils believed the global warming 'end of the world' scaremongers (many of them scientists) who were adamant we would have drought conditions for ever.

YouTube - Fresh video of flood chaos in Australia as water swamps Brisbane!

Instead of new dams to save this water we now have multi-billion dollar desalination plants in every major Australian mainland capital city. Most will be mothballed.
