When one adds a grapple to a FEL and adds a hydraulic circuit to operate the grapple, does one of the FEL functions toggle with the grapple (hydraulically)?

Depends on how you want to plumb the new hydraulic circuit. You could plumb it with a diverter, which would toggle one of your FEL circuits when a button is pressed, or you could plumb a third function which could be also be operated electrically (but independently). Lots of great info on the forum on these two options.

I simply added a circuit to the power beyond. When the joystick is in neutral position, full hydraulic flow goes to the grapple. Works for me because I can't reach the sticks with my left hand which means the joystick is always in neutral position when I use the grapple valve.

I can see how having electric over hydraulic with the button on the joystick would be usefull but it wasn't in my budget.

There are many, many threads about adding a grapple or bucket grapple in the Hydraulics section.
Here is one which is where my wife and I added a bucket grapple to her tractor:
My Very Own Grapples
It starts out with Loretta making the grapple jaws and gets into hooking up the hydraulics.

I use the additional hydraulic circut and controls for other thing besides a grapple so I recomend going that route IF you might need to run other hydraulic stuff.
