No problems on permits, as long as there is no countywide burn ban (lots of pine trees around here and they burn quickly in dry weather) you can burn what you want. As far as tires, I never burn more than one at a time.:)

In my younger days, when I had a Camaro, I always burned them in pairs :D

A couple of old truck tires will light up anything, including 20 tons of huge trunks and rootballs. Don't ask me how I know.....
24 old tires will destroy 5 large burn piles.
I don't know how I know either.

I always give the county 911 dispatch a call and advise them that I will be doing a controlled burn. They really appreciate it, only been told not to once when I wasn't aware of a county wide burn ban. Last year I did get a sorta green operator "why are you calling, will someone complain?" Oh yeah they will. One each busy body who lives just across the hill from the wood lot. Complains if a dog walks on her lawn, complains at the slightest wiff of smoke, etc.

My neighbors and I have an understanding. What happens in my yard is my business and what happens in their yard is not.:D
