Interesting, I just checked mine and it's a JPA meaning it's a 2005, yet the dealer swore it was a 2006

Does yours have a tachometer?

My GC-2300 is JPA and is a 2005 and is in the paperwork as a 2005. I bought it Aprial 12, 2007 and it only had 1.5 hours on it when it was delivered to me and mine does have the tach and hour meter built together.

Just found this old thread, which got me wondering about my tractor.

I bought it in May 2008 and all the paperwork refers to it as a "2008", but the serial number starts with JSA.

How can I tell which MY it is? Were there any differences between 2007 and 2008 that would help me solve this mystery?

Thanks,
Jay

The only change that I am aware of (or can remember) is the 2008 model had a factory installed hydro filter guard.

If that's the case, then I'm all set, since mine has the factory filter guard.

I have to say that every time I use this tractor I am pleased with myself for picking this model to purchase. It is the perfect size for my projects and my property. Next I have to do something about storage since right now the tractor is in the garage and my car sits outdoors....and winter will be here in 4 months, or so. :eek:

Keep in mind that tractors don't actually have model year changes like cars do. The changes in a model are running changes that can happen any time of the year irrespective of the month or year.

n = 2004
p = 2005
r = 2006
s = 2007
t = 2008

NT#### is 2004 production. s/n format changed at beginning of 2005.
O & Q are not used because they can easily be confused with each other and the number 0.

Ahhh,
So my GC2410 starts with JVC and the V means it's a 2010?

GC2300.jpg
THAT IS EXACTLY WHERE MINE IS
The Ser # is on the left fender at the bottom next to the floor board.
It will read something like this for 2006 and up JPA 00000-----I made this # up but it will look just like it. For 2005 and older it will read N-T0000. Good luck
