question about planting grass around a house???

The story of the burlap sacks reminds me of a story about my mom and dad. After doing some work on the lawn, dad threw down some grass seed. Mom was looking out the window from the kitchen and asked if he was going to use burlap sacks?

Dad's reply was no, God planed all those acres of land without the use of burlap sacks. Mom's reply was, you are not God.

I was going to suggest hydroseeding, where they spray mulch, seed, fertilizer and water and "paint" your ground. The problem is that even with the mulch, you need to keep the ground wet, that means running the sprinklers several times a day for a few minutes. If you run them too long, it just washes the seeds around and they won't stay put. I just hydroseeded about 5000 sqft and it took about 7 days for the grass to come up, I mowed after 2 weeks. The problem I am having is trying to get the weeds out of the grass now and the other grasses, whose seeds found their way into my lawn.

Can't use weed and feed for about a month after planting.
