To see mine clearly i sand blasted the area, and the 2 places on the motor then spray painted.

You couldn't hardly see them to start with, now even after painting you can read them clearly.

I used a paint remover and was able to get clear down to the metal. Still only two lines. However with help I think we have figured out that my tractor is a 1967 3cyl diesel, made in England.

You can match up numbers from other parts of the tractor to confirm that. Anything under the hood?

Are there any stamped in numbers on the left side? Seems i read replacement transmissions were sometimes marked there.

Yes we (another forum member checked the transmission numbers and freeze plugs--with all that information it was concluded what I had. I have ordered a wiring harness from the local dealer. It should be in next week. Actually the wiring harness comes in two parts (packed, shipped, priced and sold separately) I was trying to put the old wires back on and determined that much of the old insulation had cracked off the wire so I felt it would be better to start over with new wire.

You could have gotten a after market Diesel harness for less.
Some of the wire ends are not right, but easy to change. I like to pack a bit of Vaseline in the connectors for extended life.
