All joking aside.............I do understand that the 'chute cloggers' do need to be there for some people. I had a neighbor years ago that lost 4 fingers on his right hand from trying to unplug a snowblower.
Would it have saved his fingers............yes.
Should he have been operating machinery..............apparently not.
Sorry, I don't buy that it would have saved his fingers. If he's that much of a knucklehead he'd find SOME way of getting hurt. You can't make everything in this world safe from people who do stupid things and we shouldn't try. A gun is dangerous if you look down the barrel while loaded and pull the trigger. Do we need a guard against this? How about a table saw? Do we need a guard so you can't run your fingers across the blade?
Mechanical things that move are dangerous but NO guard will prevent an idiot from hurting himself if he really wants to and that type of person should just stay away from mechanical things or accept being called "Stubby."
