Just for comparison, my dealer gave me a price of $60 per rear tire (23 x 8.5), and $10 per tire for mounting. He didn't do the work though, he had a tire shop that he does business with do it.
Dave01 said:1*Her prices sound awfully high.
2*You need to make sure the 10.5's will mount OK on 9.5 rims .
3*just tell the dealer you want the tractor but you want it with the ag tires, what will they do for you?

The 8.50 Ags are just fine for this tractor.Undercover said:I called Goodyear today and this is what i fond out.1st they can't get a ag tire for 23x9.5.I called the cub dealer and they couldn't find one either.Back to Goodyear. He said yiu could put a 23x10.5 tire on a 23x9.5 rim(he said that would be a 7"rim) But didn't advise doing this because the tire would bow and i would lose alot of traction. Also was not to high on the 23x8.50 said i would lose 200lbs of weight load a tire. Not sure about that.He said i should try to find a set of 8 1/2" rims for the 23x10.50.Also the 23x10.50 would cost $74.73 a tire.
So after i talked with goodyear i called dealer got the same person i talked with on saturday, said they didn't look into it yet.I asked about getting 8 1/2" rims so i could get the wider ags but was not sure they would have to look into it.
Why does cub put this odd rim on the 2500 series.I can't believe it is this hard to get ags for a garden tractor. If i wanted ags for my GT 1554 it would be no problem. But its belt drive you would think it would be easier for the shaft drive.
As a last resort a asked if my GT 1554 rims would fit the 2544 so i could swap these to get the ags on the 2544 but she didn't know. But i really don't want to do this.So at this moment i'm a little discouraged.
Forget R4s go with the 8. 50 AGs.NEFirewood said:Okay since the judgement seems to be Ag's, then how about R-4s? There is a 23x8.50-12 R-4 tire that will fit on the rim. Or is it better to just go with the ag tires?
