Question Carb Linkage GOVERNOR SPRING

Hello....

I noticed the spring was broken that fits on my carb linkage (861 Ford) and I bought a new one.

But I can't figure out where one end attaches?

The "Long End" connects to a hole in a plate on the linkage (right under the Air Cleaner), but where does the other end connect? Anybody know? It goes somewhere under and close to the battery tray I think.

seems like i posted a reply to this somewhere.. did you double or cross post this?

there is about a ?? 8" spring from under the bat box, passingthe bellcrank to a rocker.. etc. is this the spring you are looking at? 8" may be wrong.. I'm going from memory.. tractors are at the farm and I'm at work... whodat or rickb can verify..

Yes, I posted on the Ford board first, but didn't seem like many were looking at it, so I reposted on the main "repair" board...

Yes - the spring is about 8 inches long...

I will connect it to the tab under the battery box!

here's a diagram of the linkages too, in case you dind't get them. don't show much.. but if you pulle dit apart it will help you get it all back together..
