At the maximum extension, how long is top link on your 3-pt hitch? I want to install a hydraulic link that's long enough to work with the Pat's Easy Change which adds about 4 inches to the lower links.

I figure that the top link that comes with the 5610 is the proper length for the lower links. So if I add 4 inches to that I should have the right amount of extension for the hydraulic top link after I add the Pat's Easy Change.

I had this issue with a tractor where I couldn't extend the top link enough to get the angle right on a box blade to just scrape the ground after I had the extra length on the lower links from the Pat's.

I should have the new machine in a couple of weeks and will posts pictures then.

My 5610 is currently 100 miles away. I won't be able to get any measurements for about 1 week. My hydraulic toplinks always seem to be a little too long, rather than too short.

Radman, I notice from some of your pictures that you have a hydraulic top link on your Toolcat. Do you remember how long the one you installed is?

Here's an update on this. I went ahead and sent an inquiry to Bobcat from the web site and someone called me back with the information that the top link is 19.6 inches fully retracted and 27.6 inches fully extended. Of course, when I called my dealer to let him know, he told me that one of the Bobcat Toolcat specialists had told him that the numbers were 25 inches and 34 inches.

So now I don't know what to think. I guess we'll wait until he actually has the 5610 on hand and measure directly, then order the hydraulic cylinder based on that information.

It'll mean I have to wait longer to get delivery, but it'll be right. I guess I can stand it.

Any comments of what diameter the hydraulic cylinder should be for the top link? Or any other considerations? I don't know what other criteria might be involved in choosing. All I know about it the length issue.

I don't know the length. I took it off another tractor. I can measure it next week. sorry.

25 retracted and 34" extended seems way to long. I like the larger 3" diameter cylinders. If you don't have a check valve, they will hold up longer and easier to adjust than smaller diameter cylinders. The smaller ones will work but may need a restrictor if it moves to fast.

I had my original TC toplink in my shed. Bobcat was correct with lengths of 19.6 retracted and 27.6" extened. (I actually measured 19.5" and 27.75" but maybe I am off a little).:)

I have another hydraulic top link in my shed. I use it on my CUT. It has a retracted length of 20" pin-to-pin with 8" stroke. Compared to my other toplink on the TC, this one seems about 1" shorter and I did use it for a while on the TC. I do remember it working slightly better because of the shorter length. I use a speeco quick hitch and sometimes I need to use the flip over adapter rather than the hook. The adapter sits back further than the hook. That is why I feel my hydraulic top link is sometimes a bit too long. If you use Pat's system, a top link with retracted length of 23-24" maybe more ideal.
