Question for BH owners--

That is a good approach. It is pretty much what I did to legitimize my decision to buy the BX23. I sat down and wrote out all the jobs I thought I had to to and how much I thought the rental fees would cost to accomplish each task. I didn't factor in paying contractors because I figured that was guaranteed to be more than the rental fees. Then I had a dollar amount to work with - I added what I call a convienience factor on top of that - the money I figure I save by having the hoe there whenever I want it and when I compared that to what buying a BX23 vs buying a tractor with just a FEL - would cost me I came darn close to the rental fees. So in my case I figure at worst I am break even in $$$ but I will end with the backhoe. With rentals all I get is a pile of invoices.
You listed the Woods Groundbreaker as one of the hoes that will fit your tractor. The Woods is very comparable to the BT600 on the BX23. I would not call either one of them a toy - you can get real work done with them but you have to realize that it won't do as much as fast as a larger backhoe. One other thing to factor into your decision making process is that the Woods will in all likelihood have a pretty good resale value because it can be made to fit so many different tractors. Woods makes versions to fit all of the SubCUT sized tractors as well as your John Deere and the Kioti CK20.
