Well I have a bx-23 and for the first 4 months mowed with the backhoe on. The only bad thing is if you remove BH and put 3pt blade on you can lock the deck up and use blade but if the blade is on and you go to use(ie lower) deck blade also comes down. Trying to think if some of KUB literature shows mowing with BH on. It is a little more bouncy with BH on and make sure you use the lock pins. You might also want to go thru your manual and make sure you got all the pages just found out mine jumps 43 on 1 side to 46 on back (not like a missing page as well as 58/9 86/9

Even though the manual says "Do not attache nor operate the mower with teh backhoe still in place." my dealer just delivered the BX24 with the mower, backhoe, and loader all attached.

The manual also says you can damage the backhoe's control valve if you don't disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses of the backhoe and connect the tractor outlet hose to the tractor power beyond pipe.

So I, too, am confused with what seems to be mixed messages.

What say you, BX24 experts?

This does seem to be a contradiction, when I purchased my BX24 several weeks back, the dealer showed me how to operate the FEL, Backhoe and mower deck (all were attached at the time). They then showed me how to take off the FEL, then the backhoe, and mower deck...They then showed me how to put them all back on again. I specifically asked the dealer, and his head mechanic if it was ok to run the mower deck while the FEL and hoe were on. They both told me yes. I have been running my mower with both still attached since I purchased it, and have yet to have a problem. I use the FEL, hoe, and mower so frquently right now that I don't want to be popping them off and on all the time...Sometimes I only have 30 minutes availabel to go get some work done. Speding that time swapping implements wouldn't be as productive for me....
Clear as mud right :)

I am also looking for the answer, as my 24 was delivered with all attached too. Although I can't imagine mowing with the FEL and BH attached. I have way too many trees to go around. I am however getting much better with the swap out of the FEL and BH for the mowing deck and think that putting all on dollies will help even more. Last drop of FEL and BH and mount of MMM was down to 15 min.

I have the BX 23 and I believe the 3 point hitch will make contact with the BH when lowering. Also I have hills and the bucket will drag on inclines, tear down limbs, topheavy ect....... I typically remove the FEL and BH when mowing, figure I have enough to watch without having to worry about additional clearance overhead, in front, and behind. However this year I decided to run my wheelhorse and keep the hours on the BX to FEL and BH work.
That 24 must be one hell of a do-it-all at once machine!

I had a chance to try out the BX24. The only reason that I can see for the BX22 & 23 not to run the MMM was the 3pt arm hitting the BH deck.
This is the reason for the redesign BX24, it all can work together. It must be a copy/paste error in the manual.

I emailed Kubota to straighten this out, once and for all. Here is what they said:

"The tractor should not be operated with the mower deck and backhoe attached as is stated in the owners manual. The dealer most likely had all of the attachments mounted to aid in simplifying delivery. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for choosing Kubota."

If they only knew what their dealers were really up to...

If the 3 point arms are up, then lowered ONLY to the TOP setting for the MMM, you can use the backhoe. However, trying to use the MMM and lower it will usually cause problems as the 3 pt arms lower. Of course, there is no down pressure exerted on a 3 pt system, but I would be leary of doing this. I have put the backhoe on and used it for a quick job while leaving the MMM on if I know I will be mowing soon - just remove the BH before mowing. In fact, I will be doing that tomorrow as I need to dig a 15 ft trench to bury a gas line, but then won't be using the backhoe for awhile. I'll need to mow later this week, so drop the loader and hoe to mow (looks like I got a little wordy - hope all that made sense:) ).
