In your answer to the post about FEL lift capacity you mentioned use of clamp on front forks. Did you make these or get them from an after mkt dealer? I have a B7500 and need to move about three pallets of LARGE flagstone and those forks would be just the ticket since the stones are too large to fit in the FEL. Thanks, Augustus

Augustus,

Lots of people have made them, but I bought mine with the tractor. They work pretty well, but one problem with them is that it is hard to see the tips through the bucket, so you have to stand up to see what you are doing.

Once you get under what you want though, they seem to work pretty well.

Another thing. The ones I got do not slip over the toothbar, so I have to take the toothbar off when I want to use them. That is not a major issue though, as the toothbar comes off in about a minute once the wrenches are in hand.

Hope this helps. There have been some threads in the past with pictures of clamp on pallet forks. A search might turn them up. I remember one by Harv that had some good pictures of the same kind of forks as I have...

I also have a question for Bill (Henro). When are you trading your tractor in for the new B3030 with the quick attach/detach backhoe that you are dying for? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm going to let Ron J Hall lead the way on that one! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually I like my B2910 too much to want to get rid of it. I would like to have a BH75 4-point backhoe though. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Unfortunatley, since the BL4690 is still the backhoe offered for the B7800 (while the BH75 goes with the B3030), I guess I'm probably out of luck there... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh, well... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hey! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif How did I get into this. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I'm waiting to see if 403 loader will fit my Quick Coupler, Front Blade, 3PH adapter and Pallet Forks.
BL4690B BH is still an option for the B3030. I don't think I will be upgrading to a BH75 unless a super deal comes along. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Then it may be a good idea to make the SUBJECT a bit more generic. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Seeing that Augustus is a NEW member, he could be unaware of the PM feature -- this is why I brought it up.

Another possibility is a "Carry All" which looks like palate forks, but is all welded together into 1 unit and mounts on the 3ph. Northern Tool and Equip. carries Howse and King Kutter brands. I have seen them on sale there for $59, though they usually go for $79 or $89. Each of these has angle iron pieces welded together at a 90 degree angle. I bought my Leinbach carry all for $100, but on it the bottom iron continues past the vertical one for a few inches and on the side toward the tractor these 2 are tied together by another iron plate creating a small triangle, making the Leinbach much stronger.

Click Here to see a Leinbach carry all. You will notice the little triangular part which gives this design much greater strength than those not having this part. The black frame you see in this photo is not part of the carry all, but is simply sitting on the carry all. On this model, the horizontal member extends past that triangular piece about 3 extra inches toward the tractor. The 3ph arms on a BX are so short that in the fully lifted position the ends of the arms touch the tires and prevent movement of the tractor. For this reason, I just trimmed off that excess 3 inches without compromising the triangle and now can lift to full height. On tractors larger than subCUTs, this should not be a problem.

I use the carry all with a plank and my electric sprayer attached with bungee cords. I've also carried palates of materials. Two weeks ago, I lifted and transported some 6 ft. tall cabinets on the carry all. The cabinets were wrapped with large "Keeper" straps wratcheted around the ROPS.

King Kutter also makes a pallet mover similar to the carry all but with a 2000 lb capacity.
