Can anyone give me the dimensions of the bolt on hooks, snatch and slip?
I need to know if I can fit them on a piece of 2x2x1/4 angle.
On another note, this site is expensive. Since finding it last month I've purchased a Ratchet Rake, draw bar, and 3 point trailer hitch for the drawbar.
I'm also planning a mod to the trailer hitch and a jackstand for my rear blade , along with hooks on my loader.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking at the bolt on hooks at this time as I don't have my welder yet. The bolt on hooks will be used on the 3pt hitch mod. I can't really blame this site for the desire for a welder but it has motivated me to purchase one. LOL I will remember the dimensions when it comes time to weld hooks on the bucket.

Russ, sorry I missed the bolt on part of your post. Does this link help?Ken's Bolt On Grab Hooks

Yes, that gives me the grab or snatch hook dimensions, now just need them for the slip hooks. Have seen the slip hooks advertized for bolting onto trucks but can't find the dimensions of the hook base. I had looked at Ken's hooks but missed the dimensions when I was at his site the first time. Thanks

Russ, I have looked tirelessly for some small weldable slip hooks that would fit on the plates I have so I could offer them, I have had zero luck.

Can you post a link to the ones you are thinking of using?

I'm fairly sure if you just increase the size of your angle iron by an inch, you'll have room to spare with the bolt on hooks.

What is the difference between grab hooks, snatch hooks and slip hooks? I have read a few hook threads and don't recall them being mentioned before.

Grab and snatch is the same thing I believe and has a narrow opening to hold a link of chain, and really nothing else, a slip hook is larger and can be used with cable, rope, chain or slings.

I will usually put one of each on a 8-12 foot piece of chain, for the versatility.

Kenny, yes that is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the pics. Looks like Achingback is right and I need to go to 3 inch angle to do what I want. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. Thats what I like about this site, you get answers to questions.

My definition is different then JB4310. To me, grab hooks allows me to hook my chains on via which link I prefer. The slip hooks allows me to use my chain as a noose effect that tightens as I pull on it.
It just really depends on what you want the desired effect to be. Sometimes you do what you gotta do. If my grab hook don't fit or cant wrap, a slip hook fits better, only as long it doesn't fall off lol!

No, we agree, maybe I worded it funny. And yes it depends on the situation, that's why most of my utility chains have a slip hook on one end and a grab hook on the other.

Yup, I've got latches on both the slip and grab hooks. My grab hook latches are different from the ones in your link. Mine is from AWDIRECT.

They come in handy for joining 2 lengths together and trusting they wont come undone before you put tension on them
