Question for Hurricane Area Members

/ Question for Hurricane Area Members #22
Pretty much if the generator company isn't bragging about their THD then they don't meet the spec.

Amen!

Seems as though these days all any of them talk about is the engine side of their generators.

What is the best way to make sure of that?

Oscilloscope will do that for you but probably cost more than the generator. Not sure if they put those measurements in multimeters these days.

You could also find out who makes the generator head and see if the head is rated for clean power. It isn't like there are a ton of companies making generator heads.

Oh and yes, they do have hand held meters which can give THD but they are also kind of pricey, not Oscope price but in the few hundred dollar range.
