Question for \"theonlybull\"

You say a customer of yours uses a Fiat for forestry work, that's what I use too.
What model does he use, HP, 4wd, etc... ?
Does he use a winch or a pulp cart ?
Tell me all about it.
Mines a 55-46 (55HP) 4wd with a Farmi winch. Works great so far, only had it for a month now.

i'd have to check on him with the model of the tractor, but i think it's in the 70+ HP range, and 4x4. It has had a brush guard mounted on the front of the tractor, with a larger hyd. resivour, and a couple guides up to the top of the cab to keep the brush from taking too many window's.

he uses a power trailer with a loader attatched to it. on back, he has a set of racks that slide on, and a winch/processor that also slides on. the winch is run off the pto, by putting the rear end our of gear ( 2speed ruxel, with some modifications). the processor is all eletric over hydrulic. he says the tractor is great for what he's doing, with the ground speed pto.

he mainly does silvaculture with it. he cuts the trees, winches them up to the trailer, then grabs them with the loader and processes them. after a couple days, he switches to the log racks, and hauls the logs to the roadside.

it's just him and his brother running the operation, and they seem very happy with the fiat tractor and power trailer combination.

I've seen messages like this before on other forums, and when someone else reponds, the original poster writes a response like, "This question wasn't for you!"

Not saying that would happen here, but I'd like to avoid it by pointing others in the proper direction.

Mark has only been a member for slightly over a month, so he may be unaware of PM's.

Yes, this is what this entire forum is all about, but the subject stating that the question is for ONE person indicates a PM should be used.

I guess I'd sure get in trouble then 'cause sometimes I see questions on here addressed to someone who isn't on line at the time and if I think I know an answer, I post it. There are already nine moderators on this site, I dont think we need any more. Lets try to leave the posting lessens to them and always make sure we compliment more than critique.

I'll critique if I see fit. I'm also a member of this forum, and just because I don't always preach to the choir like some, my advice should be just as welcome as others.

I can't believe what kind of response my giving good advice to someone has brought on.
