Mowing Question of Reverse PTO Disengagement on X748

Hi Guys

Just picked up a small for me tractor X748 SE to mow the lawn and blow some snow (set a new record of over 7 unmelted feet in January of last year). Had to use 75 hp TN with bucket to clean 300 foot 25 foot wide drive and ended up with 14 foot high piles. Was unable to use 8 foot bucket mounted plow any more. Used as way to justify 54 inch blower and machine.

I really like the machine so far, but find the fact the fact that the PTO disengages (with an annoying way to reengage) a real pain.

I'm used to machines that can mow or at least back up in reverse.

Does anybody a simple way (without major surgery) that I can bypass this "feature"

On my x749 with mid and rear pto I use a Bic pen cover cap to hold the pto button up. Engage the pto switch, pull up slightly and insert the pen cap just above the top right corner of the switch.

You can also go inside and eliminate the momentary section of the switch but so far I haven't taken the time to do it yet.

I have a lot of tight areas so I do a lot of backing up while mowing with my 748. Some have disabled the reverse switch. If you pull out the PTO lever while backing up it will stay engaged. I found those wires and jumpered them. It was pretty easy but you need a meter to find them. I'll split them apart when I trade it.

I don't see any safety issue here since I look behind me when I back up anyway.
