At work we just picked up an older 6 cyl deutz engine.. perhaps fromt he 70's It's a stationary power unit to run a large trash pump.
One of the cyls is leaking fuel, and the mechanic doesn't want to 'try' to pull the injector unless he knows how / what to expect.. and well.. the engine is older than him.. so he's never worked on one.. etc...
here are the numbers from the data plate:
135 hp 2300 rpm
(printed on tag DIN ) B 6270
0957 / 07
BF6L913
6668169
If anyone could let me know how to pull the injector, I'd appreciate it. Theory is right now that the injector tip may be broke... If you crack the line to the injector.. not much fuel bubbles.. however if you pull the line, there is a decent amount of fuel.. or a sealing disc ( copper washer? ) under the injector is leaking.. According to the mechanic, there is a fuel leak at the cyl. I havn't had my hands on it, so all I know is it is not the return line and bajo fitting, or the pressure line to the injector.. so those are our guesses at this point. Any takers?
