question on my 2420D

I am having trouble getting it to shift in the creeper gear. It will shift into all the other gears just fine. Is their something that I need to do different?
I noticed the key turns to the left. What does that do? It will not stay. It just springs back. Is this something to do with the thermal start?
I have a small fuel leak buy the fuel filter and I turned off the fuel. Will this cause problems next time I try to start the tractor?
Can anyone tell me what the symbols on the dash mean? Upper left is red when I turn the key and start the tractor and goes off when the tractor is running.
When tilling what RPM should I be running?
How fair should my heat gauge move? I used my tiller for about 45 min. and ran the tractor a 2500 RPM and the heat gauge never got more than a quarter of the way over. It seem ok to me but I just want to check.

I am very happy with my yanmar 2420D so far. The shuttle shift is very nice.

Creeper Gear: To place the selector in Creeper range you will have to push the small handle forward and at the same time place the selector lever in C.

The key turning to the left is for Thermo start.

Fuel leak: Hard to tell whether it will cause a problem or not. It depends on which side of the fuel bowl it is on.

Symbols on Dash: I have an owners manual that I made for my 2620 that tells what everything is. If you will give me your e-mail address I will e-mail you a copy.

Till in the lowest gear/speed. Gear 1, 540 RPM until you get a feel for the tractor. Then on maybe the second passyou can bump up to a higher PTO speed, but never run a bush hog in a higher than 540 gear.

OK I went out and looked at the tractor again and I figured out the creeper gear. I had to pull up on a little round knob next to the gear shifter.

The creeper knob on my 2420D will not pull up. Does yours have power steering? Bill

No power steering
Their is a knob to the left of the shifter. I tried to push it down and push it to the front and rear and nothing happend. I pulled it up and then it went into the creeper gear. Did I do something wrong? How should it work? Nothing is really marked.
