Question on new Purchase of LT1046

Greetings to the forum.

I am in the process of purchasing my first new LT. I chose the cc 1046 because of the riding position and the value, engine. I was wondering is the mulching kit is standard on this model. Do you have to change the blades? Because they quoted me a price of $89.00 for the kit. The web site says it is standard.

I believe the mulch plug comes standard with the machine (it did on my 2544). It's just a piece of plastic that plugs the discharge chute on the deck. The stock blades should work fine for you, but that depends on what/how you are mulching.

Thanks for the info. I called another dealer. It is standard on the 1046 and they made a mistake quoting me the kit's price. Is there a break in period for the 2 cylinder Kohler engine?.

Yes there is. Read about it in your manual.

First hour low and med-high reving. No load.
Next 10 hours, low and high reving moderate load.

There's also a breaking for the PTO (for mower deck). Takes 10 minutes.
