I am going up this weekend to my dealer to make a deal on a new tractor. After doing allot of research reading, I have settled in my mind on the L3800. As I was reading through this forum, I did some reading on the B3030. It seems pretty comparable in features and price. I guess I am trying to figure out what the big differences are. I know there is a little difference in weight, the HP of the L3800 is a little more, the B3030 has a mid PTO, but other than that, I can't find any other big differences. I doubt I will ever use this machine to cut grass, so I won't need a mid PTO.

Here is one big thing that I was reading on specs between the 2. The B3030 says that it has dual pumps. The L3800 doesn't mention if it has duals. To me that would mean that the B would be allot faster moving the implements like a BH or am I wrong in thinking that? I know that is a big issue right now with my BX22, the backhoe could operate faster.

The L3800 is a much larger framed tractor. Once you see them in person, you will understand.

And by bual pumps, I assume they mean powersteering pump, implement/FEL pump. And the L3800 has two as well. And it has more GPM on the implement pump, so it will move the FEL and BH faster than the B3030 will.

Like LD1 says........ the B3030 is considerably smaller then the L3800. If the difference isn't obvious by looking at Kubota's website..... it will be when you see them side by side. Lift capacities on both ends will be substantially more on the 3800 than on the B3030.

I guess I will see when I go to the dealer. The website is too hard to tell size. I wonder why the B3030 is about the same price? More luxuries I guess?

Exactly, the 3030 is a deluxe model with more features, where the 3800 is more of a standard machine.

So you are NOT in the "snow country" and will never need a front mounted snow blower?

PS. If you can, it's nice if you can have your profile file details filled in, look under "My Home" at the top of every page.

Lets us know your impressions of the 2 you are looking at. I am in the same dilemma right now.

As mentioned, you will simply have to see them in person. The Bxx30 is to the B Series what the L40 is to the L Series; no more capability or little, just more "luxuries/frill/necessities" depending on your situation.

I recently saw an L3800 on the lot and was pretty impressed with it. I am not in the market, so I didn't do a close inspection, but pretty darned nice.

I did look at both of them and went with the L3800. It had a bigger axle and seemed like it had a better stance than the B did. The B was nice, but didn't seem to be as heavy duty to me. The L3800 looked like a work horse.
