I was just wondering how to get the bone splinters out of the deer hamburger after it finally got chucked out of the straw chopper? : /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The way most farmers learn to watch out for the little furry friends is by accidentally running a skunk through the combine. That teaches 'em to not suck so hard. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have run over a couple of fawns, mowing hay, years ago. Kind of gross. I don't recommend it.

OTOH, maybe we should quit eating grain and meat. Maybe that would make the PETA whackos happy. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

In Wisconsin, we have so many excess deer that they are now considered a pest and a health threat.

Obviously management practices are not working.

Thanks for the responses guys, about what I would have figured in terms of animals getting run over by tractors, accidents happen but not the bloodbath I was told it was.

Last fall I chased a pheasent for nearly a half mile while cutting beans. She would not run off to the side out of the way. I would slow down and follow her and pretty soon she would get tired and stop and I would too, then she would run a few hundred more yards and stop I did this all the way to the end of the field. When we got to the end she ran off in to some tall grass and I did not see again. I figured I was not in that big of a hurry that i had to run her through the combine. There was probably a coyote waiting in the grass for her but I did my part to save our wildlife.
